Parts of this book were very interesting, too bad it wasn't the main emphasis of the book. Let me explain, the beginning of the book deals with the founding fathers being influenced by Indian tribes.The Iroquois alliance influence on Benjamin Franklin and other founding fathers was exceptionally thought provoking. We forget, or at least I do, the strong influences of the Indians treaties, and other interactions with them to help create America as we know it. The author shows a similarity between some of the Indian ceremonies and Freemasonry.If the book was expanded, giving more details on the Native American influence, and retitled, it would be exceptionally good. When you look at our currency, even today, there is no doubt some Masonic/secret society type influence. The book explores Masonic ties of the founding fathers. The problem with the book, is the subject matter. Secret societies, which were very popular with our founding fathers, are by their nature closed lipped. The bookgives an overview of the founding fathers, secret societies, and symbolism intertwined in the founding of our young country. Like I said, I believe the subject matter made this book fall short of the mark by not going into enough depth..

We went to school, we attended our history classes, we went to college, we live in America, we celebrate the 4th of July with fun and feasting, we carry dollar bills in our pockets, yet how many of us could write about our Great Seal? Who could you tell right now, how we got the seal? Could you even share with your family and friends around the food and drinks on the 4th of July, why we only use one side of the seal for our documents today? Can you tell why the reverse side was created, who drew it up, and what it means for us today? Are you ever discouraged about the doom and gloom in the news and all the 'stuff' about the economy and politics, leaving you wondering if there is any hope for America and our world today?If you are discouraged or if you don't care enough to be discouraged, or if you feel there is nothing you can do, go get this book and read it as fast as you can and then share it with 10 others who will do the same. If you would read it in a month, share it with 10 who read it in a month and they do the same and continue until we have at least 100,000 readers in the next 6 months and then start loving you dollar bills and talk about the reverse seal everywhere you go. Let's see what we can do to change the doom and gloom to love, hope, and a future for our children and grandchildren and so on for the next 400 years or more.As the old saying, if it is to be it is up to me, let's be the 'me' and share this message with the world. This book was published in 1989 and 2006 and it is 2011 and I just learned of it!! Someone waited too long to tell about it or I would have read it years ago.The message is precious to my heart, soul, and it is for our Well Being. Don't be indifferent and not share this story with others, but be an excited messenger.
I find it difficult to submit an unbiased review of "Founding Fathers, Secret Societies, etc.," This essay like Hodapps "Solomon's Builders is another production, in my mind of members of the Craft trying to hard to justify Freemasonry and attribute "All things bright and Beautiful" to them. Almost in some respects as if they are proving to themselves as well as they hope to others, that Freemasonry is the Key Stone for all. There were probably enough non Masons, at the founding who also had a good deal with "The Founding" who were the steady workers, while a few the shining stars. I shouldn't want to burst any bubbles, but Freemasonry really goes a lot deeper than is trying to be suggested in the essay.
With the exception of one faction of the Illuminati,which seemed to be self serving, America is deeply indebted toThe men who followed the principle of these secret societiesin giving us our freedoms.These beliefs are as important,in todays world, or more so than ever before."We the people" is a beautiful phrase, but is in danger of our government, which has taken on a life of its own.The tru-isms in this book should be taught in every home, every school, and and before a candidate can represent us in government,he or she must have a conviction to follow themin thier decision making process.This is a great book for students of history.Rod SteeleMoab Utah
I'm not really a secret society or conspiracy buffjust really like a good read and enjoy historybecause it's our most interesting social science to boot.That said, this book is really curious, for those wantingto educate themselves about how the U.S. constitutionand birth of a new nation was influenced by the mostunforeseen cultures. The symbols will also raise a few eyebrowsand provoke some consciousness. The title is a bit deceivingbecause the content doesn't cover the clandestinian repoire ofthe founding fathers to the extent of binding it substantiallybut it rather keeps your mind busy with questions. Thereis an awfully exhausting bibliography in this very moderatelyshort book, which is may explain why at times it seems like theaim is every where and not targeted. For the price i paidfor this book I can't complain also because it was a stimulatingread. Recommend this one to a select audience who justwants to past the time reading on a lunch hour.

The book is a great read. It provides alot of information on masonry and our founding fathers. The book was labeled "used" however it looked brand new to me. No sign of wear at all.
